Role purpose

 

To be responsible for the implementation of the Firm's Leadership & Learning strategy in all APAC offices by designing and delivering virtual and F2F learning programs.

Main responsibilities

  • Consult with L&L Partners and PBS Directors to crystallise learning needs and plan L&L programs for their groups
  • Engage with the JAO and AP Talent Management Teams to develop pipeline candidates
  • Design and present in regional webinars and milestone/pipeline development programs
  • Align local office programs to regional and global L&L programs across all levels
  • Project manage and implement learning programs
  • Select and liaise with internal and external presenters
  • Collaborate with junior team members and teams located in service centres to: (1) discharge administrative work, (2) ensure attendance and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) records are tracked and are in full compliance with Firm and local offices' requirements and (3) improve on existing processes
  • Plan and manage L&L budget for the JAO offices
  • Manage Executive Coaching arrangements and coaching services for senior PBS Managers, senior lawyers and Partners

Technical skills, qualifications and experience

  • Undergraduate qualification or progress towards a qualification in Learning & Development or a related field
  • Strong experience in a similar role in a large corporate or professional services environment
  • Strong consulting, design and facilitation skills including skills training relating to communication and interpersonal skills, presentation skills, leadership and management skills, and career management
  • Good balance of technical learning design skills and commercial pragmatisms to deliver practical solutions
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix and geographically dispersed environment
  • Ability to design programs, initiatives and materials in consultation with business leaders and subject matter experts
  • Growth mindset in developing self and others on the team
  • Adaptable to change; "can do" attitude
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Legal background or learning experience in a law firm is desirable
  • Japanese language skills a plus
  • People management and supervisory skills
  • Organizationally and culturally savvy, studying/working abroad experience highly desirable
  • Accredited in the Myers Briggs Type Indicator is advantageous
