Responsibilities:  

  • Consult with L&L Partners and other relevant stakeholders to crystallize learning needs and plan L&L programs for their groups
  • Engage with the Partners, functional leaders and TM colleagues to develop their people, with a focus on pipeline candidates
  • Design and present in the classroom, webinars, and milestone/pipeline development programs, in person and virtually
  • Align local office programs to regional and global L&L programs across all levels
  • Project manage and implement learning programs
  • Select and liaise with internal and external presenters
  • Collaborate with junior team members and teams located in service centers to: (1) discharge administrative work, (2) ensure attendance and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) records are tracked and are in full compliance with Firm and local offices' requirements and (3) improve on existing processes
  • Plan and manage L&L budget for various offices and programs
  • Manage Executive Coaching arrangements and coaching services for senior lawyers and Partners

Requirements:

Essential

  • Undergraduate qualification or progress towards a qualification in Learning & Development or a related field
  • Extensive experience in a similar role in a large corporate or professional services environment
  • Must be fluent in English and Mandarin (speaking and writing)
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Ability to design programs, initiatives, and materials in consultation with business leaders and subject matter experts
  • Experience in designing and delivering training topics relating, but not limited, to communication and interpersonal skills, business development and client service skills, leadership and team management skills
  • Good balance of academic learning design skills and commercial pragmatisms to deliver practical business world solutions
  •  Ability to work collaboratively in a matrix and geographically dispersed environment
  • Growth mindset in developing self and others on the team
  • Adaptable to change; "can do" attitude
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Desirable

  • A legal background or learning experience in a law firm
  • People management and supervisory skills
  • Organizationally and culturally savvy, studying/working abroad experience is highly desirable
  • Executive coaching certificate

Travel requirements

  • Travel may be required to deliver programmes and support other L&L activities
