Aircraft Maintenance Technician with Inspection Authorization in Anchorage
The University of Alaska (UAA) Aviation Technology Division invites applications for an aviation maintenance position for the Aviation Technology Flight School. As a mechanic in the Aviation Technology Division you will be responsible for performing the duties of an FAA-certificated Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic with Inspection Authorization conducting required maintenance & preventative maintenance of UAA Flight Training Aircraft including 50-hour inspections, 100-hour inspections, annual, and phase inspections. This position is responsible for debriefing pilots concerning any aircraft malfunction. Running and taxiing aircraft under power, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing unscheduled maintenance on assigned aircraft. Additionally, you will perform the full range of repair and testing of aircraft systems, assemblies and surfaces, determining if aircraft components require repair, replacement or re-calibration, and requesting parts and conducting repairs as required.

The University of Alaska Southeast (UAS) is seeking applications for the position of UAS Sitka Campus Director. Sitka is a remote island community in beautiful Southeast Alaska with a small but diverse population and a rich indigenous culture. This campus is one of three that make up the regionally accredited University of Alaska Southeast. UAF Facilities Services seeks a dynamic individual interested in working in a challenging environment on all aspects related to Warehouse fiscal operations. The incumbent will possess a positive, can-do attitude, and be a self-starter with strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work and communicate well with a diverse population. The FS Warehouse processes approximately 10,000 special orders and 200 purchase requisitions annually, in excess of $8 million. The majority of the time in this position is acting as a purchasing buyer for the FS Warehouse procurement activities. Additionally, this position develops bid specifications necessary for the purchase of the requested goods and services and finds a source of supply, places orders with vendors on blanket purchase orders and credit cards, and maintains security and integrity of credit cards, all while maintaining an excellent rapport with local and non-local vendors. Additional duties include daily reconciliation of all charges incurred through the FS Warehouse, participation in annual inventory, file maintenance and records management.
