The University of Alaska (UAA) Aviation Technology Division invites applications for an aviation maintenance position for the Aviation Technology Flight School. As a mechanic in the Aviation Technology Division you will be responsible for performing the duties of an FAA-certificated Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic with Inspection Authorization conducting required maintenance & preventative maintenance of UAA Flight Training Aircraft including 50-hour inspections, 100-hour inspections, annual, and phase inspections. This position is responsible for debriefing pilots concerning any aircraft malfunction. Running and taxiing aircraft under power, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and performing unscheduled maintenance on assigned aircraft. Additionally, you will perform the full range of repair and testing of aircraft systems, assemblies and surfaces, determining if aircraft components require repair, replacement or re-calibration, and requesting parts and conducting repairs as required. |
