We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as the HR Manager for Retailors Pacific, this is a Full-Time 12-month Maximum Term contract for a parental leave replacement role. Reporting to our CEO and Global VP HR, this is a great opportunity to work directly with senior executives to drive meaningful impact for the business and teams across Retailors Australia and New Zealand, whilst developing and growing your HR career achievements.

This is an ideal role for a person with prior experience in HR leadership within the retail environment, an individual who has the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships and proven experience in elevating, leading and driving strategic growth across the organisation and HR function. The role will have a strategic element but will also contain hands on elements of a generalist role due to the varied nature of the organisation. With your leadership, the HR team will make a vital contribution to the continuing success of our business across Australia and New Zealand.

You will play a pivotal part in the business and help maintain the already energetic, friendly and hard-working culture.

Your key responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Lead and oversee the HR function and team of specialists supporting Retailors Australian and New Zealand retail teams
  • Delivering the key HR strategies that support organisational change, growth and high performance teams. 
  • A strategic business partner with an inquisitive approach to understanding store and support office team needs whilst taking a solutions focused approach
  • Strong focus on IR/ ER issues and providing expert professional advice and support to all key stakeholders across all aspects of people management.
  • Provide insights on talent and drive recruitment improvements, including developing and promoting high potential talent and creating innovative sourcing strategies.
  • Coordinate and control the activities of the HR department such as administration, employee benefits, remuneration, induction, performance management and all associated HR activities.
  • Ensure legal compliance and represent Retailors relationship with external organisations such as employer groups, government authorities, industry associations and other relevant bodies as required across AUS and NZ.
  • Support and assist all facets of the business in undertaking and implementing HR processes including but not limited to, performance appraisals, disciplinary processes, training & development activities, and policy interpretation
  • Make recommendations and review/create HR Policies in consultation with key stakeholders

To be considered for this vacancy you must be an experience HR Manager who has the capability to think strategically whilst maintaining day to day operational activities. The successful candidate will also have the following:

  • 5+ years HR Generalist experience of AUS/NZ practises.
  • A passion for building and developing teams that are high care and high performance
  • Previous experience working within a growth organisation would be advantageous.
  • Experience with the retail industry would be well regarded but is not mandatory.
  • A strong understanding of Human Resource activities across the employee life cycle including legal compliance and associated HR legislative requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver improved results
  • An understanding of business challenges and operations.
