The role

We seek to hire an experienced Technical Project Manager with responsibility to understand the technical domain for the project that they are managing. This role will involve working with our project/programme management organisation, engineering teams and also customers to successfully drive projects through the development process.

You will:

  • Be responsible for ensuring delivery of Imagination’s engineering projects – this could be anything from the IP for an integrated circuit to a graphics driver
  • Ensure that technical decisions are taken in a timely manner by coordinating the experts from the various technical teams, have the knowledge and background to participate and guide these discussions
  • Work closely with the Technical Leads, Engineering Manager and Programme Manager to come up with mitigations for scheduling, scope or resourcing issues.
  • Provide leadership and coordinate the work of technical teams of electronics engineers and software engineers
  • Understand and diagnose project technical risks and issues and be able to guide solutions
  • Be responsible for tracking project deadlines and communicating project status to the programme teams
  • Create, manage and report on a plan for the internal resources to deliver product of the correct technical quality at the agreed cost and to the agreed schedule.
  • Protect the team from over-pressure and conflicting priorities and escalate any issues that they are unable to resolve to the Programme Manager.
  • Work with third parties to help ensure they deliver in support of engineering goals and contractual commitments
  • Run regular calls with customers, with minutes and follow-up actions recorded

You'll have:

  • Significant previous experience in technical project management within complex technical development, e.g. a silicon design, system design or software environment
  • Ability to understand technical knowledge and ask the questions required to receive necessary information
  • Strong time and task management skills
  • Significant experience of managing technical projects
  • Understanding of engineering development processes
  • Experience of presenting to senior management
  • Attention to detail
  • Initiative and drive
  • Passion for achieving results

You might also have:

  • Automotive experience (ADAS)
  • Safety Critical development projects
  • Experience of Agile methodologies
  • Sub-contract management experience
