The role

Our GPU & AI Hardware, Software and Assurance teams rely on a variety of platforms – simulation, emulation, FPGA, prototyping boards, and consumer devices - to run their workloads and do their work. We are looking for a hands-on technical leader who can help set a technical direction for our platforms team, collaborate with our automation teams, and ensure we’re providing toolflows that delight our engineering customers.

We are building a new “designed for AI” automation system that uses AI, ML and algorithms to relentlessly optimise the workloads we execute across our on-prem and cloud compute resources. This automation systems will enable our teams to schedule and trigger benchmarks and workloads on versions of our IP, to run across a variety of platforms, then view real-time data and insight via a data platform and algorithms.

You will join us at the beginning of this exciting project and will help us to build production infrastructure and workflows that run across our platform estate and capture and display data for humans and algorithms to consume.

Alongside all this new investment we need to keep the existing solutions running 24/7.

This is a hands-on role, in a team that has no bureaucracy and no managers; we have no unnecessary meetings, committees, or ceremonies. We have big, complex problems to solve, and are building a team of pioneering, self-organising people who love to collaborate and get things done.

We are looking for a technical leader that has a clear articulation for what an industry-leading emulation/ prototyping solution should look like, who is excited to be empowered to help us build it. The ideal candidate will relentlessly improve our tools and workflows and plot a path through the EDA tools landscape to deliver the best outcome for our engineers and our business.

As a key member of our team, you are joining us at the start of a revolution – with your technical expertise, innovation mindset, and ‘get stuff done’ attitude, you’ll help us shape our team culture, and define our tools, design principles, and standards.

You will:

• Own Imagination Technologies’ platforms roadmap, working internally and with EDA vendors to help select the best solutions for our needs
• Work with our hardware, software, and assurance methodology leaders to understand their needs, help define the platforms roadmap, and shape forecasts for platform capacity and license needs.
• Drive the development and improvement of the Platforms teams’ tools, scripts, solutions - collaborating with automation colleagues to deliver our new automation architecture
• Bring Imagination’s diverse silicon boards/ devices catalogue into the platform estate, under the same automation and change control processes
• Empower and support your team to do their best work and be proud
• Help create a culture of incredible service for our engineering customers

You are:

• Demonstrably experienced in Emulation/ FPGA/ Prototyping solutions from at least one major EDA vendor
• Able to showcase your technical experience using, improving, and optimising Emulation, FPGA prototyping workflows
• Able to articulate your vision for an industry-leading platform capability and a strategy to achieve it
• Able to turn your strategy into a plan of specific ordered actions to achieve it
• Able to lead a team by doing the work and setting the standards
• Great to work with, lifting the spirits of the team around you

You may:

• Understand GPU IP
• Have experience in GPU IP prototyping
• Have experience of cloud-based prototyping solutions
