The role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced global company where you’ll leverage your financial reporting knowledge expertise and systems knowledge, while driving forward exciting strategic projects. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller and working closely with the CFO, this role partners with senior stakeholders across the business to explain the impact of accounting for customer contracts, leases, and other complex transactions. The role will have 2 direct reports that are experienced qualified accountants.
You will be responsible for:
Financial Reporting
- Preparing and reviewing the financial statements and disclosures in accordance with the UK and IFRS reporting requirements
- Ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting
- Keeping abreast of changes in UK and IFRS reporting requirements.
- Leading the assessment and implementation of new and amended accounting standards.
- Owning and manage the group financial statement preparation from NetSuite to Workiva
- Optimising and maintaining the chart of accounts, cost centres, and custom fields in NetSuite.
Technical Accounting
- Accounting for revenue, leases, intercompany eliminations and foreign currency translation.
- Working with commercial and operational teams to ensure technical considerations are factored into business decisions.
- Liaising with external auditors on key accounting issues and provide supporting analysis.
- Developing and maintaining accounting policies, memoranda, and internal guidance manuals.
Revenue Accounting
- Managing the Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) module in NetSuite
- Owning and developing IFRS 15 compliant revenue recognition policies
- Overseeing the financial accountant that owns the licence, support & maintenance, and royalty revenue accounting and billing
- Ensuring correct treatment of revenue-related balance sheet accounts
- Partnering with Sales and Legal on deal structuring providing input from a revenue recognition perspective
ERP Management & Optimisation
- Managing the month-end close process within NetSuite
- Leading projects to optimise NetSuite workflows, reporting, and consolidation
- Designing and implementing scalable month end close processes
- Helping to deliver training and knowledge-sharing on NetSuite and related tools across the finance team
- NetSuite experience with implementations or optimisations beneficial

You'll have:
- A curious and solutions-oriented nature, with a strong problem-solving mindset and a focus on continuous improvement
- Proven post qualified experience in financial reporting roles, including technical accounting and financial systems experience.
- Experience working in a multi-entity, multi-currency group environment.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and its application in a group environment.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Big 4 or top tier accounting firm background strongly preferred
- Proven track record of producing high-quality deliverables with thorough documentation supporting audit-ready deliverables.
- Experience optimising NetSuite to enhance financial reporting, financial operations, and internal controls.
