Position Summary

- Serve as Academic Advisor to Political Science majors, advising students on academic/curriculum matters;
- Assisting students with registration;
- Evaluating and maintaining student records;
- Assist with various duties including Summer NSO;
- Discussing career opportunities with potential MSU students and their families;
- Assisting the department in curriculum matters and evaluating its undergraduate programs;
- Promoting experiential learning opportunities;
- Participating in planning programs, events, and initiatives to advance DEI, improve undergraduate student experiences, and build community within the Department;
- Introducing students and prospective students to the Department of Political Science

Required Degree
Masters
Minimum Requirements
- Masters degree or equivalent post-baccalaureate experience working with college-age students by start date of appointment;
- Good communication, interpersonal and organization skills;
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with University policies and procedures;
- Experience working with electronic student information systems;
- Previous academic advising experience;
