Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.
Unit Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Professional Aide with experience in systematic reviews, evidence synthesis, or epidemiology to support a range of research projects. The ideal candidate will have methodological expertise and a demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and other forms of evidence synthesis.
- Contribute to protocol development, literature searches, screening, data extraction, and quality assessment.
- Apply epidemiological methods to analyze and interpret data across diverse research domains.
- Collaborate with project teams to draft reports, presentations, and manuscripts for publication.
- Maintain transparent and reproducible documentation of review methods and results.
- Assist in stakeholder engagement and knowledge translation activities as needed.
This is a temporary position with flexible work arrangements—remote or part-time onsite options are available. While not required, familiarity with agricultural (plant or animal), environmental, or veterinary research is a plus.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in epidemiology, public health, or a related field with emphasis on research methodology.
- Demonstrated experience conducting systematic reviews or evidence syntheses (e.g., Cochrane, Campbell, JBI, or similar standards).
- Proficiency with review software tools (e.g., DistillerSR, Covidence, Rayyan, RevMan, or similar).
- Strong analytical and writing skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage timelines in a remote or hybrid setting.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of agricultural systems, environmental health, or veterinary sciences.
- Familiarity with risk of bias tools, GRADE methodology, or meta-analysis techniques.
