Position Summary

The individual will play a pivotal role in guiding the completion of ACGME applications and ensuring alignment with accreditation standards, curriculum development, and evaluation processes for universities applying to start Addiction Medicine Fellowships. Additionally, the role involves offering clinical expertise to enhance training programs and foster interdisciplinary collaboration. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with institutional leadership and stakeholders to complete ACGME fellowship applications in Addiction Medicine.
  • Provide detailed guidance on ACGME accreditation requirements, including curriculum design, evaluation methodologies, and compliance with program standards.
  • Leverage extensive experience in Graduate Medical Education (GME) leadership to advise on developing Addiction Medicine fellowship training programs.
  • Offer pediatric expertise as needed, contributing to curriculum content, clinical case discussions, and interdisciplinary training initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource for faculty development in GME best practices.
  • Ensure program deliverables are met within established timelines, including the preparation of accreditation materials and supporting documentation.
  • Facilitate collaboration between educational institutions and clinical practice sites to optimize learning environments for fellows.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Pediatrics

Minimum Requirements

  • MD degree with board certification in Pediatrics.
  • Extensive experience in GME leadership, including prior service as an ACGME fellowship program director for a new program.
  • In-depth knowledge of ACGME accreditation standards, fellowship application processes, and competency-based medical education.
  • Proven experience in curriculum design, evaluation, and program development in a clinical education setting.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to oversee complex applications for accreditation processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to advancing medical education and supporting interdisciplinary training initiatives.

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior experience developing fellowship programs, particularly in Pediatric Hospital Medicine or Addiction Medicine.
  • Academic teaching experience at the graduate medical education level or higher.
