Position Summary
Provides secretarial support for administrators and departmental staff and serves as the department receptionist; will process gift acknowledgements; assists with department events and may need to attend evening and weekend events; will attend board meetings and records meeting minutes; processes vouchers, reimbursements, and enters student payroll; assists with ledger reconciliation; assists with research on prospective donors; prospect maintenance and contact reports; assists with the research and data collection for preparation of grants, proposals, and department reports; assists in developing policies and procedures for the office; performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Knowledge normally acquired through a high school education; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in word processing, spreadsheet, database and/or desktop publishing software; presentation and webpage software; typing and filing; maintaining accounting ledgers; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge to that which would normally be acquired by completing a t wo-year college degree in office administration; three to five years of intermediate work in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Access); experience with Enterprise Business Systems (EBS); experience with data collection from Google alerts, Facebook and LinkedIn; experience with maintaining websites and establishing and maintaining social media site s, knowledge of Expression Engine; experience processing reimbursements ; experience with meeting minutes; experience with proofreading and editing; self-starter with good decision making skills and ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously; ability to professionally articulate verbal and written communications; excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work and tasks effectively and efficiently; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with, and provide superior service to alumni, donors, faculty and staff; ability and desire to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team.
