Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

o Field and Project Coordination

§ Coordinate field trial activities across multiple collaborating institutions.

§ Communicate as needed with partner sites to ensure standardized data collection.

§ Assist with MSU-based re-use and reduced-wax-coating studies.

§ Track project timelines, deliverables, and data flow.

o Data Collection and Management

§ Manage biological data from all trial locations.

§ Ensure data quality, consistency, and proper documentation.

§ Photograph or assist with imaging of hive frames when needed.

o Biological Data Analysis

§ Further train the existing AI‑assisted image analysis pipeline to quantify comb type and hive activity.

§ Interpret outputs related to drawn comb, brood, food stores, and undrawn foundation.

§ Summarize biological performance metrics for internal and external reporting.

o Economic Analysis

§ Compile production cost information from manufacturers and collaborators.

§ Develop an economic model to evaluate user level and producer level feasibility.

§ Conduct partial budget or cost benefit analyses comparing unwaxed and wax coated foundations.

§ Prepare summary tables, figures, and written interpretations.

o Commercialization Support

§ Integrate biological and economic results into a cohesive commercialization package.

§ Prepare materials for industry partners and future proposal submissions.

§ Support documentation needed for licensing discussions and next-stage funding.

Desired Qualifications

o B.S. in Entomology, Biology, Statistics or directly relevant fields

or

o MS or higher in any field with sufficient experience directly relevant to listed job duties

o Experience with coding (especially R, SAS, and Python)
