About the role
The purpose of this position is to lead a team of marketing professionals to deliver innovative programs to market the city of Penrith and leverage Council’s brand. Penrith is a growth city and the opening of the Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) in late 2026 provides a platform to grow Penrith’s economy – attracting capital investment, increasing day trips and overnight stays.
This position is responsible for the delivery of actions in Council’s City Marketing Plan, brand architecture, and relevant actions in the Penrith Economic Development Strategy 2023-31, the Penrith Visitor Economy Strategy 2023-2030 (VES)and other relevant Council strategies. The City Marketing Lead reports to the City Marketing Program Manager and works strategically to create and deliver campaigns and actions that positively influence perceptions of Penrith. Key to success is building and maintaining strong and effective strategic alliances to market the city. The City Marketing Lead is collaborative and values relationships within Council, with business, strategic partners, other Councils and state and Federal Government agencies. The City Marketing Lead contributes to broader City Economy and Marketing outcomes and Council projects in the context of promoting Council's vision and values.
Essential criteria
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business or another related field
- Demonstrated capability to deliver projects on time and on budget
- Demonstrated experience researching, organising and distributing information
- Demonstrated experience in content creation for online channels
- Demonstrated experience scheduling and monitoring online content for marketing campaigns
- Proven administrative skills, including PC skills, customer service experience and time management skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Knowledge and understanding of EEO and WHS principles.
Salary: The salary for this position ranges from $112,849.00 - $130,626.00 per annum, plus 11.5% Superannuation, and will be negotiated commensurate with the skills, qualifications and experience of the preferred applicant.
