About the role

As Senior Manager Heritage Programs, you will lead the delivery of Heritage NSW repatriation, conservation, Indigenous Land Use Agreement and Aboriginal Place work streams. You will work closely with Aboriginal communities across the state to deliver outcomes that empower and heal.

 

The Senior Manager works closely with the Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee in delivering its regulatory functions. The position holder will be a key advisor to the Executive Director, Senior Management Team and the Minister’s office.

 

The role leads the implementation and evaluation of programs to ensure that governance and project management meet customer expectations, achieve program outcomes and objectives and comply with guidelines and statutory requirements.

 

About you

We are looking for an Aboriginal leader who is an experienced, strategic, relatable person with a strong collaborative nature and operational acumen. You will be able to successfully lead a large team across multiple NSW locations, and you will be able work closely with community to negotiate outcomes.

 

You will be a highly skilled communicator, who can effectively lead change and deliver high performance.  You will have previous management experience, leading a multidisciplinary team in a program delivery space.

 

Essential requirements

 

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in Aboriginal cultural heritage, archaeological site conservation or relevant field.
  • Driver’s Licence and ability to travel.

This is an Aboriginal Identified role where Aboriginal identity, cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role. Positions are specifically noted under the provisions of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act (1977).
