The role
This role within our Budget Funding Optimisation team provides a high-level support with the preparation, analysis and delivery of in-scope portfolio financial reporting. In addition this role assists with the continual review of the Department’s accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the Australian Accounting Standards and NSW Treasury policies and other relevant statutory requirements.
The position will support internal and external stakeholders in achieving and meeting deadlines and also providing in-depth analysis of our financials and performance. The role will apply strong analytical skills and provide expert advice and support to portfolio agencies on Prime delivery and will implement efficiencies.

What you will bring to the role:
- Ideally you will have a strong working knowledge of financial reporting and management frameworks preferably in the NSW public sector
- An understanding of the budget process and knowledge of Treasury Prime system would be highly regarded.
- You will be self-starter with commitment to getting the job done and great attention to detail with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and interpret financial information.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to coordinate between various internal and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes is preferred.
What is an essential requirement:
- Degree Qualification in Commerce / Business or currently completing a Degree Qualification in Commerce / Business or extensive relevant practical experience
