- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $105,924 to $117,031 + super
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) is currently seeking to appoint a Scientist in our Net Zero Emissions Modelling team, within the Climate and Atmospheric Science branch.
The Scientist role supports the Net Zero Emissions Modelling team for their state- and economy-wide emissions modelling program, contributing to greenhouse gas emissions analysis, modelling and research.

About You
The successful candidate will have experience with some level of autonomy to make day to day decisions relating to work priorities and workload management. They will be accountable for the quality, integrity and accuracy of content of advice provided.
The following skills would be highly regarded:
- Programming skills
- Knowledge and experience in spatial analysis and working with spatial datasets
- Sector specific experience in one or more of the sectors we model (transport, industrial processes, energy, waste, land, agriculture)
- Experience working collaboratively with a team to deliver customer focused results.
- Knowledge and experience in greenhouse gas science, research, analysis and modelling.
Essential requirements
- Scientific qualifications, knowledge and demonstrated experience of one or more of the following: atmospheric emissions estimation; emission mitigation; and/or energy, transport or land use change modelling and analysis.
