  • Permanent fulltime role at 35 hours per week plus FlexTime 
  • Sydney, Newcastle or regional location by negotiation 
  • Hybrid working from home and office supported 
  • Salary from $125,693 to $138,510 plus super and leave loading 

 

EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.  

 

About the Opportunity 

Our EnergyCo Planning and Communities team is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Advisor Planning and Communities to provide high-level executive support and coordination for the Executive Director, Planning & Communities and the division. This includes the coordination and delivery of ministerial correspondence, reporting, secretariat, project and policy advice and improvement activities.  

This role ensures that high-quality information and advice is provided in a timely manner to facilitate decision making and the achievement of strategic goals and objectives. 

 

About You 

To be successful in the role you will have extensive experience preparing and editing high quality written materials, for example: reports, speeches, briefings and responses to Ministerial and Executive correspondence, House-folder notes, Parliamentary Questions. 

You will have the demonstrated ability to apply a balanced approach in response to contentious and emerging issues by adopting consistent principles and key government messaging while being sensitive to specific issues and challenges (e.g. community concerns in a highly dynamic and complex setting). You will play a key role in the organisation’s continuous business and systems improvements. 

You are self-motivated and take pride in your ability to exercise astute judgement and initiative and utilise proper processes in handling confidential and sensitive information that has the potential to impact on organisational performance or reputation. 

With strong time management and a collaborative approach, you have the ability to manage competing demands and strict deadlines while undertaking research and analysis, which includes collection and synthesis of information and data from multiple sources into accurate and timely advice/recommendations. 

 

Essential Requirements 

 

  • Tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field.

Who we are? 

The Energy Corporation of NSW (EnergyCo) is a statutory corporation established under the Energy and Utilities Administration Act 1987 and governed by its Board, appointed by the Minister for Energy.  EnergyCo is a Staff Agency employing all EnergyCo staff and is an agency related to the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW).  

EnergyCo plays a pivotal role in the NSW Government’s Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, which aims to transform the state’s electricity system into one that is cheap, clean, and reliable. As Infrastructure Planner under the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020, EnergyCo is responsible for leading the delivery of the State’s first five Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) and the first two priority transmission infrastructure projects (PTIPs), which are located in the Central-West Orana, New England, South West, Hunter-Central Coast, and Illawarra regions. We work closely with communities, investors, and industry to investigate, plan, recommend and coordinate generation, storage and network infrastructure projects.
