The role
Sydney Gardens is a vibrant and dynamic space dedicated to providing an exceptional experience for our visitors. We are looking for a passionate and organised Visitor Services Officer (VSO) with stockroom and inventory control experience to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Oversee and manage the inventory of Retail products, and event materials for Royal Botanic Gardens
- Stock Control: Monitor stock levels, conduct regular stock takes, and ensure accurate record-keeping using inventory management platforms
- Supplier Coordination: Liaise with Manager to order and replenish stock as needed
- Product Display: Assist in setting up and maintaining attractive product displays in the retail shop once stock is receipted
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to visitors, answering queries and assisting with purchases
- Administrative Tasks: Perform various administrative duties related to inventory. Category organisation, provide insights and recommendations for inventory optimisation
- Retail and Events Support: Aid the Retail and Events sector with inventory and stockroom management

You will have
- Previous experience in stockroom and inventory control
- Proficiency in using inventory management platforms to ensure efficiency
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for gardening and community engagement is a plus
Essential Requirement
- Ability to work outside of normal working hours and on weekends if required
- Current driver’s licence
