The role
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will take ownership of statutory financial reporting, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, NSW Treasury policies, and the Government Sector Finance Act. You will provide technical accounting advice on complex transactions and prepare accurate, audit-ready financial statements for Treasury and the Audit Office of NSW.
This role is central to maintaining the integrity of financial reporting for Property & Development NSW. You’ll oversee property-related financial data, contribute to the preparation of Treasury financial reporting, and work closely with auditors, internal teams, and executive stakeholders to deliver reliable financial insights and continuous improvements to financial systems and internal controls.

What you will bring to the role
- Deep knowledge of public sector financial management, accounting standards, and Treasury policies
- Demonstrated experience preparing statutory accounts and resolving audit issues in a complex organisation
- Strong technical analysis, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
What is an essential requirement:
- Degree qualification in accounting or related discipline
- Membership of a recognised professional accounting body such as CA ANZ or CPA Australia
