- Office is located in Armidale or Tamworth - regional location encouraged/Hybrid working supported
- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $105,924 to $117,031 + super
Our north-west Environmental Water team is seeking to appoint an Assistant Environmental Water Programs Officer to assist our experienced team in field operations, scientific monitoring, water planning, community engagement and reporting.
The focus of this role is environmental outcomes for the Gwydir wetlands and north-west river systems. In this position, you will work with a diverse group of people including landholders, researchers, representatives of industry groups, members of the Aboriginal community, river operators and government agency staff.
About You
As part of our team, you’ll need experience and a passion for fieldwork and value real-world, evidence-based environmental outcomes. We work across multiple disciplines and engage different knowledge sources in representing our catchments, negotiating outcomes and being the voice for the environment in various processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for a science-trained professional to step into the world of environmental water operations. You’d be supporting an experienced multi-disciplinary team in an supportive and dynamic work environment.

Essential requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Biological Sciences and or Natural Resource Management.
- A valid Australian driver’s licence.
