  • Office based in Parramatta; flexible working supported
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $125,693 to $138,510 + super 

 

About the team

The DCCEEW Social Media Team was created in February 2024, and since that time has reached 4.8M people across the state with critical updates on topics such as our transition to Net Zero and the protection and enhancement of our environment and heritage. A critical role of this in-house team is ensuring our output is on brand, complies with relevant governance models and both enhances and protects the department’s reputation.

 

About the role

The Senior Social Media Advisor devises and implements paid media strategies which reach the right audience at the right time, helping to educate internal stakeholders on the role of social media as a strategic channel. You ensure content is audience-centric, best in class and adds value to the lives of NSW residents. You will confidently engage with stakeholders at all levels and make evidence-based recommendations around social media activity. You will also play a role in coaching others and a leading role in delivering strong communications outcomes for the department. 

 

About you

You are an experienced and proactive social media professional passionate about creating engaging, customer-focused content. To be successful in in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience managing social media channels, especially in the environment or energy sector.
  • Strong skills in content creation (video editing, graphic design, photo editing).
  • Expertise in managing paid social media campaigns (strategy, optimisation, benchmarking, and reporting).
  • Knowledge of government social media policies, including the Government Advertising Act 2011.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
