We are seeking for an experienced Manager Insurance and Financial Reporting to lead and manage a team in developing, delivering, and implementing insurance policy initiatives for the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. In this role, you will provide expert financial advice, conduct comprehensive research and analysis, and drive the Department's insurance policy commitments where you will also develop strategies for monitoring and evaluating insurance policies, ensuring their effectiveness and efficiency, and lead stakeholder engagement to support sound policy decisions.

 

As a key player in our team, you will oversee the preparation of reports, briefs, and correspondence, and provide professional financial management support to executives and senior managers. Your role will be crucial in identifying emerging issues, developing evidence-based options, and ensuring the Department meets its insurance policy commitments.

What you will bring to the role

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Expertise in providing timely, accurate policy advice on complex issues.
  • Proven ability to lead consultations and negotiations, integrating information and adapting to unpredictable environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of government functions, accounting standards, and insurance portfolio requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage challenging relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What is an essential requirement:

Degree Qualification in Accounting, Commerce or similar discipline and studying towards CPA/CA (or equivalent) full member status, or extensive equivalent experience
