  • Office based in Parramatta; flexible working supported
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $148,230 to $162,682 + superannuation

 

About the team

The Strategic Policy and Cabinet branch provides direct support to the Deputy Secretary, Secretary, Executive Leadership Team and Ministers’ Offices. The Branch is agile and responsive, and its staff are capable, respectful, resilient and proactive.

 

About the role

Lead a dynamic team to efficiently coordinate key functions, processes, and projects that drive the Departments strategic outcomes. You will oversee submissions, provide cross-agency advice, and support the Executive Leadership Team's strategic agenda.

  • Deliver high-profile projects.
  • Coordinate quality advice for senior decision-makers.
  • Advise on complex policy and governance issues.
  • Research and recommend solutions for public policy and governance.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Engage with executive and ministerial staff to align with government directions.

 

About you

  • Autonomous Decision-Maker: Confidently manage work priorities and ensure high-quality, accurate advice.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven track record in leading teams on government policy, projects, governance, and strategic coordination.
  • Stakeholder Relationship Expert: Excel at building and maintaining strong, productive relationships.
  • Thrives in Fast-Paced Environments: Adapt and perform in high-touch, dynamic settings.
  • Policy & Governance Advisor: Experience providing expert advice on complex issues, identify emerging trends, and develop evidence-based recommendations.
  • Analytical Thinker: Ability to research, analyse, and recommend solutions for complex and contentious public policy, operations, and governance matters.
