Are you a visionary leader with a passion for data, spatial services, and information management? Join the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) as the Director of Data, Spatial and Information Services and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of New South Wales.

 

In this senior executive position, you will be at the forefront of managing and delivering cutting-edge data services, data analytics, spatial services, and records and information asset management. Your expertise will drive the development and secure operation of information and digital services, ensuring that our department remains a high-performing, world-class public service organization.

About You

You are a seasoned leader with extensive experience in leading the delivery, management, and support of GIS/spatial applications, coupled with the delivery, management, and support of Enterprise Data Warehouses. Your background includes leading projects and teams within highly complex matrix organizations, where you have consistently provided expert advice on the technical aspects of GIS and spatial data management.

 

You have a proven background in a client-centric approach, demonstrating strong client intimacy by understanding the business's needs and why we do what we do to enable the business. Your leadership style is collaborative and inclusive, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. You are adept at guiding, supporting, coaching, and mentoring team members, encouraging them to work collaboratively to achieve shared goals. Your strong communication skills enable you to build effective partnerships and communication networks with key internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, suppliers, and other state government agencies.

 

You are accountable for your actions, adhering to legislation, policy, and guidelines, and you inspire a culture of accountability within your team. Your financial acumen ensures that you understand and apply financial processes to achieve value for money and minimize financial risk. You are proactive in managing client expectations and providing support and guidance to your team to deliver outcomes within agreed targets and timeframes.
