The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage the Spatial Insights and design team to enable EPA’s spatial capability. The work is dynamic and requires a skilled leader to align the teams’ priorities with available resources. The unit head role works within the Digital Data and Intelligence branch leadership team.
About you
We are looking for someone who can:
- Lead a team of 4-6 GIS experts to deliver spatial products and analysis to EPA business units, other Government agencies and the Minister.
- Provide expert advice for strategic spatial technology needs for the EPA.
- Support the delivery of strategic and operational spatial tools and products.
- Work within a small leadership team in the Digital Data and Intelligence branch.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Sound understanding of the workings of government at a state and local level.
- Experience customer service and knowledge of existing practices in data and information management.
- Experience in managing staff and setting priorities.
- Knowledge and experience in the provision of analysis and insights for a range of stakeholders.
About the Division
Programs and Innovation Division:
• Supports the EPA to prioritise and manage resources to deliver the most impact through a transparent, integrated and collaborative approach to project delivery.
• Develops and delivers a range of stakeholder training and education campaigns to support projects and programs.
• Identifies priority and emerging issues through stakeholder engagement, research, and horizon scanning utilising data, spatial and data governing expertise.
