About the role

The National Parks and Wildlife Service is offering an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Support Officer to join a dedicated, high-performing team. This role contributes to the conservation of our natural environment, the maintenance of built assets, and the delivery of services to the community and visitors in the stunning Coffs Coast area.

As the Administrative Support Officer, you will be crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Area. Your responsibilities will include providing essential administrative, financial, office, and records management support to both office and field staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery at every step. Key tasks will involve managing and rostering administrative staff, budget review, financial reporting, procurement, fleet management, and assisting staff with technology use.

Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records and auditing data, adhering to public sector policies and procedures, and professionally handling enquiries from internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner.

 

About you

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual who excels in a fast-paced environment. You should possess excellent administrative skills, strong attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. Additionally, you should be able to work collaboratively and build lasting relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience managing competing demands while maintaining high attention to detail to ensure timely and efficient administrative support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and responsive approach to customer service.
  • Experience in administrative and financial support, ideally within a government or public sector setting.
  • Proven ability to provide high-quality service, respond to a wide range of enquiries, assess incoming tasks, and adjust priorities accordingly.
  • Understanding of budgeting, purchasing, financial processes, and reports.
  • Willingness to support incident management teams during high-pressure situations such as bushfires.
  • Ability to learn and use multiple software systems, including Office 365, CM, and MyWorkZone.
  • Experience or willingness to manage a small team of staff.
  • A proactive mindset and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
