  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $125,693 to $138,510 + super

The role

Crown Lands is currently seeking to appoint a Group Leader Acquisitions to lead and coordinate a professional and technical team and other internal and external stakeholders involvement in the acquisition and vesting of Crown land that promotes public interest and creates significant economic benefit to the State. Projects may include supporting major and State Significant renewable energy and or infrastructure projects.

 

As the Group Leader Acquisitions you will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Lead a multi-skilled team in discussions, negotiations and contractual documentation to support Acquiring Authorities in the acquisition of Crown land for state and other infrastructure programs, and ensure compliance with applicable standards, Acts and Treasurer’s Directions.
  • Coordinate with legal to manage and deliver vesting and escheats for Crown Lands.
  • Lead the management and assessment of requests that come in from other parts of the Department or other NSW Government agencies requiring information and/or action from Crown Lands to coordinate responses with internal SMEs and negotiate action and outcomes while considering internal and external impacts.

What you will bring to the role

  • Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve shared goals. 
  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes. 

 

What is an Essential Requirement:

  • Tertiary qualifications in either Legal, Property, Conveyancing, Business, Commerce, and/or equivalent level of industry knowledge and experience
  • Existing experience and deep understanding of land and property dealings under the Land Acquisition (Just Terms) Compensation Act with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
