About the role

The Program Officer is responsible for planning and delivering outdoor education and recreation programs for a variety of sport, community and school groups. You will be responsible for the effective coordination of all program components, incl. ensuring program design and delivery are in line with current trends and operating standards in the sport and active recreation sector.

In addition to ensuring all programs meet the requirements of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998, you will be responsible for safely managing any incidents and emergency situations that may occur during the program and be required to undertake on-call responsibilities on a rostered basis during residential programs. 

What you will bring to the role

  • Prior experience planning and delivering education / recreation programs to sport, community, and school groups.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in collaborating, influencing and negotiating across diverse stakeholders.
  • Adherence to standard operating procedures combined with your understanding of safety requirements will enable you to proactively identify and mitigate any risks in program delivery

Essential Requirements

  • Knowledge, skills and experience and Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field or a Certificate IV Outdoor recreation/leadership and relevant industry experience 
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) Clearance
