The role  

At the Advanced Manufacturing Research Facility (AMRF), the Machinist plays a hands-on role in shaping the future of precision manufacturing. You’ll be operating and maintaining cutting-edge CNC equipment, interpreting technical drawings, and collaborating with a passionate team to deliver high-quality machining solutions. Your work directly supports the AMRF’s mission to become a globally recognised hub for advanced manufacturing, where innovation and inclusion drive every project.

Overtime doesn’t occur on a regular basis in this role. For additional hours worked beyond 35 hours per week, flex leave is available

What you will bring to the role 

  • Demonstrable experience optimizing precision machining solutions with quality, expedience, and value for a diverse range of projects.  

  • Proven compliance with project specifications, quality and customer expectations, safety and environmental standards, and resource constraints. 

  • Hands on experience working with muti-axis precision milling and turning, metrology, and additive manufacturing in an industrial setting. 

  • Working knowledge and understanding of 3D design and programming software, and technical drawings per ASME Y14.5 or AS1100. 

  • Proven ability to work effectively in team environments while demonstrating independent problem-solving capabilities and self-directed learning skills. 

What is an essential requirement: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, or related disciplines, or demonstrated, equivalent, relevant professional experience and training. 

  • Demonstrated experience operating multi-axis CNC platforms within critical quality systems

By delivering state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing facilities within the Bradfield City Centre, BDA is supporting the accelerated adoption of manufacturing technology for industrial organisations, leading to increased industrial activity and driving investment into Australia’s newest city in 100 years, Bradfield.
