We’re on the lookout for a Visual Content Officer to help shape how the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure connects with the people of NSW—and our own teams.

The role

 

As part of the Communications and Marketing Division, you’ll create high-impact video and photographic content that engages audiences and enhances understanding of key government initiatives. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver compelling, innovative visual content that aligns with strategic priorities and government brand standards.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Plan, capture, and produce engaging video, audio, and photographic content for internal and external campaigns.
  • Manage production, including scoping, scripting, pre-production, shooting, editing, post-production, captioning, and transcription.
  • Ensure all visual content aligns with branding, style guidelines, copyright laws, and accessibility standards.
  • Maintain and curate a centralised library of video and photographic content, ensuring relevance, accuracy, and accessibility for stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Media and Communications, Internal Communications and Events, and the Marketing and Digital Content branches to align visual content with organisational messaging.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, subject matter experts, and external suppliers to ensure content accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Recommend software, equipment, and technical upgrades to maintain high production standards.

What you’ll bring to the role

Success in this role awaits if you:

  • Demonstrate advanced technical videography and photography skills.
  • Are experienced in software such as Adobe Create Suite or similar and possess a hunger for driving the use of impactful new technology.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in the way you deliver on projects and build relationships to continually improve the impact of visual content.
  • Possess strong communication skills and can confidently collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Are highly organised and can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understand branding, accessibility, and design principles for government and corporate settings

Essential requirement

  • Ability to be on call as required outside of normal working hours.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or relevant industry experience
