- Location: Parramatta, Newcastle, or Orange, with flexible working supported
- Executive TRP: $217,415 to $242,361 (inclusive of superannuation), commensurate with experience
About the Role
As Director, Digital Projects and Transformation, you will provide strategic leadership and direction for the delivery of significant digital projects and transformation programs within the Digital and Customer Division and across the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI). This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the planning, management, and delivery of critical and complex work packages, ensuring alignment with the Department’s strategic priorities and driving customer-centric digital transformation.
You will deliver expert guidance to the executive leadership team on program delivery and change transformation, ensuring broad consultation at a whole-of-government level. Your remit includes fostering innovation, identifying opportunities for technology-driven solutions, and establishing robust governance frameworks to ensure informed, accountable, and transparent program processes and decisions.
You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage interdependencies across projects, and maintain awareness of emerging digital technologies and industry standards. Your ability to balance competing demands, manage stakeholder expectations, and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment will be key to your success.

About You
You are an accomplished executive with extensive experience in managing, planning, and coordinating complex digital projects and transformation initiatives. Your background includes the management of complex technology applications, providing cost estimates and solution advice, stakeholder engagement, and future-focused decision making.
You bring a collaborative and results-driven leadership style, with a strong focus on technology delivery, innovation, governance, and operational excellence. Your ability to build effective relationships, communicate clearly, and manage competing priorities in a time-pressured environment will enable you to deliver high-quality outcomes for the Department and the communities we serve.
Essential Requirements:
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a discipline relevant to digital projects or recognised equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in managing, planning, and coordinating projects within large, complex organisations.
