Procurement Senior Project Officer
- Lead and develop a team, providing opportunities for ongoing professional development and fostering a constructive working environment.
- Work closely with various stakeholders, providing high-level advice and guidance to enhance procurement practices and outcomes.
- Develop and evolve procurement systems and procedures to optimise efficiency and service standards, ensuring compliance and excellence.
- Tackle complex procurement legislation and policy and respond to requests promptly while managing competing priorities and deadlines.

The role
As the Procurement Senior Project Officer, your main role is to coordinate procurement activities, develop business systems, and provide expert advice to help stakeholders plan, develop, source, and manage procurement arrangements effectively. You'll face challenges like responding to requests promptly while juggling competing priorities and deadlines and continuously building your professional knowledge in procurement to offer the best support.
Your key responsibilities include managing procurement services, engaging with corporate service providers, partnering with staff to improve practices, leading and developing your team, delivering training, providing advice, and maintaining procurement records to ensure compliance and efficiency.

What you will bring to the role
- Expertise in Procurement and Governance: You will manage procurement services and processes, ensuring compliance with relevant practices and statutory requirements. Your ability to provide high-level advice and guidance will help build expertise in procurement across the organisation.
- Leadership and Team Development: You will lead and direct staff, assigning work, providing feedback, and ensuring opportunities for professional development. Your leadership will foster a constructive and satisfying working environment.
- Effective Communication and Collaboration: You will partner with staff from across the organization, delivering training on best practice procurement processes, and maintaining effective relationships to improve practices and outcomes. Your adept communication skills will facilitate collaboration and enhance procurement capabilities
Key knowledge and experience
- Strong understanding of public sector corporate policies, systems, procedures and standards.
- Ability to manage a team and to create and manage an inclusive team environment
- Sound organisational skills and experience in undertaking and completing several tasks concurrently, maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
