EnergyCo NSW is spearheading the transition to renewable energy to deliver clean electricity to the people of NSW as coal-fired power stations near closure.
About the Opportunity
Our EnergyCo NSW Technical Advisory Services team is currently seeking to appoint a Principal Project Officer to step into a 9 month parental leave backfill. There is the potential of extension and we may also be creating a talent pool for future ongoing opportunities. This is a great opportunity to lead a key initiative under the Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap, focusing on the integration of Renewable Energy Zones (REZs) to deliver a secure and reliable energy supply. You’ll take over an established, structured project and drive its delivery, working closely with a small, collaborative team across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
In this role, every day is varied and engaging! The successful applicant will shape and deliver the 2025 Network Infrastructure Strategy, working with technical advisors, graphic designers and editors to communicate complex information clearly. With a strong stakeholder focus, this role tailors communications for several stakeholder groups, helping inform future REZ development across NSW.
About You
Ideally, you’re an experienced energy professional with a strong background in electricity networks, and a solid understanding of the power system. You bring demonstrated success in leading complex projects and you're confident applying economic principles and cost-benefit analysis to support decision-making.
Highly organised and self-directed, you manage priorities with ease and operate with a high level of autonomy. You’re skilled at navigating complexity and change and are known for your ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. With a strategic mindset and strong coordination skills, you deliver high-quality outcomes that align with broader infrastructure and energy reform goals.
