  • Newly created Solution Architect role 
  • Temporary 2-year full-time opportunity, 35 hours/week 
  • Office location – Parramatta, hybrid working supported 
  • Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $129,464 to $142,665 + super (Clerk Grade 9/10) 

 

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment & Water (DCCEEW) are looking for a Solution Architect to join a dynamic and growing IT team. 

 

About the role 

As a Solution Architect you will be responsible for designing and architecting DCCEEWs enterprise technology solutions aligned with the overall target architecture and systems group strategy. You will play a key role in influencing senior business stakeholders and contributing to architectural governance across large-scale IT projects.  

This role involves developing strategic roadmaps that map out where the DCCEEW’s technology landscape should be heading, ensuring these plans support business needs and recommending solutions that integrate well with existing systems and overall enterprise architecture. 

 

About You 

You bring strong experience and a natural flair for conveying complex technical issues to diverse audiences in a manner that is clear, authoritative, and actionable for the business. 

To be successful in this role, you will have: 

  • Demonstrated experience as a solution architect for complex, large-scale IT projects involving multiple systems and stakeholders
  • Extensive experience implementing IT solutions in line with project management methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience using TOGAF (Certification in TOGAF is preferred)
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience in application and data modelling
  • Experience in using Enterprise Architecture tools e.g. Microsoft Visio, Ardoq
  • Experience in some of the following technologies/frameworks:
      • Software Development Lifecycle
      • .NET or Python development
      • Integration platforms e.g. Microsoft Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft
      • Cloud infrastructure e.g. Microsoft Azure and AWS
      • Mobile technology and development
      • Service Orientated Architecture (SOA)
      • Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)
      • Cloud-based systems
      • CRM systems e.g. Salesforce

 

Essential requirements 

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated equivalent industry/professional experience at a senior level, with demonstrated commitment to ongoing. 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a solution architecture role or similar.
