- Salary ranges from $139,823.00 to $154,095.00 + super + leave loading
Our Net Zero Emissions Modelling team is currently seeking to appoint a Team Leader Net Zero Emissions - 544152 . You will lead the planning, implementation and delivery of the state’s greenhouse gas (GHG) monitoring and modelling program, working across a matrix team of technical specialists in the Climate and Atmospheric Science branch. This program is central to understanding emissions sources and abatement opportunities across the NSW economy.
You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners including the NSW EPA, other government agencies and jurisdictions and external expert advicers to ensure the program delivers high-quality, actionable data and insights that inform climate policy, reporting and decision-making.
About You
You are a highly skilled and collaborative science leader with deep expertise in GHG monitoring, measurement or modelling. You bring proven experience managing complex scientific programs and leading multi-disciplinary teams toward shared goals. You’re comfortable navigating cross-agency relationships, synthesising technical input and driving outcomes aligned with state-wide climate priorities. With a strategic mindset, strong communication skills and a commitment to scientific excellence, you're ready to lead a program that underpins NSW’s climate action.
Key skills and demonstrated experience includes:
- Demonstrated leadership of technical or science-based programs
- Strong knowledge of GHG emissions monitoring, measurement, modelling and reporting methods
- Experience working in or with government and cross-sector stakeholders
- Skilled in project delivery, team coordination and science communication

- Relevant science degree qualification
- Expertise and experience in greenhouse gas emissions monitoring, measurement, modelling and mitigation
