The opportunity
The EPA is building talent pools for our most sought-after roles, anticipating future opportunities within our agency. We are seeking passionate and talented individuals to apply for our Senior Project Officer positions.
Senior Project Officers lead the development and implementation of projects and programs designed to enhance environmental regulatory outcomes. These roles manage complex, high-profile initiatives aligned with NSW government and EPA priorities, ensuring compliance with legislative and organisational standards. This work involves strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and providing expert advice to address emerging issues and drive positive outcomes. It’s an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on environmental policies and programs in NSW.
About you
We encourage individuals from various backgrounds, both with and without government experience, to apply. Ideal candidates will bring a diverse set of skills and experiences, including:
- Project management experience, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects from start to finish.
- Expertise in identifying risks and providing strategic solutions to mitigate them.
- Strong communication skills, with expertise in drafting reports, submissions, and briefing notes for senior management and stakeholders.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and collaboration, with a focus on fostering continuous improvement across diverse groups.
- Well-developed influencing skills, effectively representing the organisation's interests and providing expert advice to shape strategic decision-making.
Essential requirements
- Good understanding of the workings of state government and knowledge of the relevant environmental legislation and regulatory practices.
- Strong experience in developing and delivering resources and programs for a range of stakeholder groups aimed at building capacity.
- Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring stakeholders to achieve program objectives.
