The role
The Senior Procurement Officer plays an important role in supporting our teams to deliver effective and compliant procurement outcomes that contribute to community-focused projects across NSW. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to plan, source and manage procurement activities that meet business needs and deliver value for money. You’ll provide practical advice on procurement policy, processes and risk, and support teams through the full procurement lifecycle.
This is a great opportunity for a capable procurement professional to help build capability within the organisation by sharing knowledge, improving procurement practices, and supporting a consistent, ethical and sustainable approach across the department.

What you will bring to the role
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
- Strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges and adapt to evolving situations.
- Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy-in.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
- Solid time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Expertise in procurement practices and legislation, enabling sound decision-making in complex and dynamic environments.
- Ability to proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance and maximizing business opportunities
Key knowledge and experience
- Extensive experience and expertise in end-to-end procurement processes, including governance, strategy development, and risk management
