About the role

The Saving our Species Program is committed to advancing biodiversity conservation through innovative technology solutions. We are developing a cutting-edge web application to streamline data management and decision-making to improve outcomes for threatened species conservation within NSW.

 

About you

As a Senior Project Officer, you will be responsible for leading the requirements gathering and specifications development for a new web-based data management platform and supporting testing. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between scientific conservation needs and technical development ensuring the platform effectively supports conservation efforts and user needs.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with a background in threatened species conservation, who thrives in a small, agile, and results-focused team environment. 

 

Key knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of current NSW threatened species and biodiversity conservation reforms and regional strategies including issues relating to their management
  • Experience in the use of database and Geographic Information Systems, and interfaces for presenting biodiversity conservation values and knowledge or ability to develop skills in the use of tools for biodiversity planning.
  • Experience in researching, managing and maintaining database systems

 

Essential requirements

  • A science, technology or engineering degree or a degree in a relevant discipline
