At the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW), our work has purpose — protecting people, Country and the environment for generations to come. We’re looking for a Senior Safety & Wellbeing Projects Coordinator who is passionate about making a real difference to how safety and wellbeing are embedded across a large, complex organisation.
About the role
In this influential role, you’ll lead and contribute to key actions from the DCCEEW Wellbeing Strategy to enhance psychosocial safety and wellbeing across the organisation. Your work will focus on strategic wellbeing elements, supporting leaders, establishing pathways, and improving psychosocial hazard management.
You’ll develop leader resources, refine reporting and resolution processes for psychosocial hazards, contribute to change management resources, and help prepare for group-level risk assessments.
Working with stakeholders across People, Culture and Safety, communications, project teams, and external partners, you’ll design and deliver practical wellbeing initiatives. You’ll also analyse and report on wellbeing data, manage related communications, and build partnerships to ensure evidence-based solutions.
About You
You are a confident safety and wellbeing professional with practical experience delivering programs and initiatives in complex settings and are comfortable balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a strong focus on quality outcomes.
You are skilled at translating psychosocial risk concepts into practical guidance for leaders and teams, and advising on sensitive or complex wellbeing matters.
You’ll also bring:
- Demonstrated experience coordinating large-scale safety and wellbeing programs and initiatives
- Strong experience working collaboratively across teams and disciplines to deliver shared outcomes
- Sound knowledge and practical experience in psychosocial risk management and contemporary wellbeing practices
- Demonstrated ability to engage with stakeholders effectively and influence outcomes
- Experience analysing and reporting WHS and wellbeing data to inform planning, decision‑making and continuous improvement
- Clear, confident communication skills, including the ability to develop engaging safety and wellbeing communications
Essential Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or related discipline and/or relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in coordinating or administering safety and wellbeing programs, initiatives or campaigns.
