The role

Join a team delivering Sydney’s exciting city-shaping projects, as well as transformational projects across the State. As a Senior Legal Officer, you’ll help support landmark planning and development outcomes by providing practical, trusted legal advice that enables confident decision-making and contributes to the creation of vibrant new communities, homes, public spaces and infrastructure for NSW.

This is the best legal work you can do anywhere – shaping New South Wales into the future. Projects you may be involved in include transforming Bays West into a new waterfront community and the delivery of Bradfield city. If you are a private practice lawyer or in house lawyer looking for high profile, meaningful work, this is the role for you.

Working across complex and high-profile matters, you’ll advise on property and commercial law issues, draft and review key legal documents, support negotiations, and help manage legal risk. You’ll work closely with project teams and stakeholders to navigate competing priorities, solve challenging legal problems and deliver outcomes that make a lasting difference to people and places across NSW.

What you will bring to the role

• Strong experience providing legal advice on complex property, land transaction and commercial matters, with the ability to identify risks and deliver practical solutions.
• A proven ability to draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements and property-related documents with confidence and attention to detail.
• Sound judgement and the ability to navigate competing priorities while delivering clear, timely and client-focused legal advice on high-profile projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams, government agencies and external partners.
• A passion for city-shaping projects and applying your commercial and property law expertise to support the delivery of the landmark Bays West Precinct.

What is an essential requirement:

• Admitted or qualified for admission as a Solicitor or Barrister in the Supreme Court of NSW and hold, or be eligible to hold, a NSW Practising Certificate.
