Join UNSW as a Senior Engagement Officer, Academic & EF Development, where you’ll play a vital role in strengthening the university’s educational leadership through strategic communications and engagement. Sitting within the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education portfolio and the Education Focussed team, this role supports the development of Education Focussed (EF) academics in line with UNSW’s "Progress for All" Strategy and Societal Impact Framework.
You’ll take the lead in developing and delivering communication resources, the Education Focussed Bulletin and outreach initiatives, both within the UNSW academic community and externally, with a particular focus on engaging EF academics.
Reporting to the Manager, EF Career Advancement and Education Focussed Development, this is a dynamic position with wide-reaching influence, ideal for someone ready to contribute to and support a culture of educational innovation and leadership.
About You:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in a relevant field or an equivalent level of knowledge and experience gained through a combination of education and training.
- Demonstrated experience in educational communications and engagement with an understanding of issues facing Education Focussed academics and the key issues currently impacting leadership development.
- Demonstrated experience supporting transformation change within a complex organisational environment
- Demonstrated success developing and implementing communications, engagement and outreach activities and educational resources utilising a range of platforms and mediums, including particular digital, to facilitate the development of Education Focused academics.
- Demonstrated ability in the management and delivery of development events and engagement activities for academics within a higher education setting.
- Demonstrated success working effectively and collaboratively with academic language and learning strategies/initiatives with a range of people at different levels within a higher education context.
- Strong service orientation with excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive professional relationships with staff at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively and to contribute positively and proactively to the team’s work. Demonstrated self-motivation, initiative and judgement and the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
