Why your Role Matters

As the Reward Specialist you will plays a key role within the Remuneration & Reward team to support the delivery of strategic and operational reward initiatives across the University and ensure alignment with UNSW’s values and strategic goals. This role provides expert advice on position classification, job evaluation, and remuneration & benefits matters, ensuring alignment with UNSW Professional Staff Enterprise Agreement. The Reward Specialist collaborates with People & Culture stakeholders to deliver consistent, compliant, and innovative reward solutions.

Who you are

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new team and function. We’re looking for an experienced Reward Specialist who can blend analytical expertise with strategic insight to drive fair, consistent, and values-aligned remuneration outcomes across UNSW.

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience in interpreting legislation and Industrial Agreements together with policy and procedure to provide effective HR advice and solutions for client groups.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of UNSW staff and external stakeholders.
  • A strong customer service focus, a flexible and adaptable attitude and an ability to build effective relationships with managers and staff at all levels in the resolution of HR issues.
  • Ability to contribute to the development and implementation of HR initiatives to meet the needs of the organisation.
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with Artificial Intelligence applications, and highly proficient computer literacy skills in Microsoft Office applications.
