About UNSW:

UNSW isn’t like other places you’ve worked. Yes, we’re a large organisation with a diverse and talented community; a community doing extraordinary things. Together, we are driven to be thoughtful, practical, and purposeful in all we do. Taking this combined approach is what makes our work matter. It’s the reason we’re one of the top 20 universities in the world and a member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight. If you want a career where you can thrive, be challenged and do meaningful work, you’re in the right place.

Why Your Role Matters:

As an Administrator in the Case Review team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students through some of the most challenging points in their academic journey. You’ll be the first point of contact for special consideration applications, ensuring each case is managed with accuracy, fairness, empathy and confidentiality. Your work helps uphold UNSW’s commitment to consistent, compliant and compassionate service - providing timely support to students from diverse backgrounds and contributing to a positive, student-centred experience across the University.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and assess special consideration applications, including back-to-source verification of supporting documents.
  • Provide clear, customer-focused advice to students, academic staff and other stakeholders on policies, procedures and application requirements.
  • Maintain accurate administrative systems, including databases, spreadsheets, filing and online tools.
  • Respond to a wide range of enquiries via in-person interactions, phone and email, escalating matters where required.
  • Support the Case Review team and broader Hub and Student Lifecycle portfolio with high-quality administrative tasks, reporting and process management.
  • Contribute to projects and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, compliance and the student experience.
  • Foster cooperative working relationships by contributing positively to team culture and peak-period workflow.

Who You Are

You are a proactive and detail-oriented administrator with a strong work ethic and a commitment to UNSW’s values - teamwork, collaboration and respect. Compassion and fairness guide your decision-making, and you’re motivated by supporting students in a consistent and unbiased way.
You bring excellent time management, communication and problem-solving skills, and you’re comfortable working in a high-volume, process-driven environment. You use sound judgement, can work both independently and within a supportive team, and you have the resilience and professionalism to manage sensitive situations.
You’ll thrive in a role where accuracy, empathy and compliance work together, helping ensure every student is assessed fairly against key criteria and supported throughout their UNSW journey.
