Why Your Role Matters:
This role sits within the Faculty of Medicine & Health and plays an important part in enabling sound financial decision-making across a diverse and dynamic portfolio. As a Finance Analyst, you will provide financial insights, analysis and reporting that help leaders understand performance, manage resources effectively and plan for the future.
Working closely with a range of stakeholders, you will support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities, ensuring financial information is accurate, meaningful and timely. Your expertise will contribute to informed decisions that support the Faculty's operational and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of financial management activities including budgeting, forecasting, month-end reporting and financial analysis.
- Develop financial models and undertake scenario analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Partner with stakeholders across the Faculty to develop financial plans, monitor performance and provide meaningful financial insights.
- Analyse financial results, investigate variances and identify emerging risks, issues and opportunities.
- Support the management of operational, strategic, research and externally funded budgets, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and funding requirements.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis to meet business needs and support key initiatives.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting and controls while delivering excellent customer service.
Who You Are:
You are a proactive and analytical finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders to solve problems and deliver meaningful outcomes. You can translate complex financial information into clear insights and recommendations, and you thrive in a collaborative environment where accuracy, service and continuous improvement are highly valued.
You will bring:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in financial planning, forecasting, reporting, analysis and financial control processes.
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Experience providing accurate, practical financial advice and delivering high-quality financial services.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A customer-focused mindset and commitment to delivering exceptional service.
