About UNSW

At UNSW, we pride ourselves on being a workplace where the best people come to do their best work.  We aspire to be Australia’s global university, improving and transforming lives through excellence in research, outstanding education and a commitment to advancing a just society.

About the Role

The Senior Business Analyst – Integration leads complex business analysis activities across the Oracle Fusion transformation and related enterprise initiatives, with a particular focus on the integration and migration of legacy PeopleSoft capabilities into the broader Oracle Fusion cloud platform suite. Working closely with business stakeholders, application owners, architects, delivery partners and technical teams, the role defines how business processes, information and transactions flow between Oracle Fusion and UNSW’s broader application landscape. This includes defining integration requirements, interface scope, business rules, source-to-target data mappings, migration and coexistence requirements, non-functional requirements and acceptance criteria.

The role supports integration and migration delivery from discovery through design, build, testing, cutover and operational transition. It maintains traceability across source and target systems, identifies cross-functional dependencies and impacts, and helps ensure solutions are secure, scalable, reusable and supportable. The scope includes API-led, event-driven and batch/file-based integrations across Oracle Fusion, cloud, SaaS and legacy platforms, using UNSW’s enterprise integration services and aligning with architecture, data governance and technology standards. The role also provides technical mentorship to other analysts and contributes to the continuous improvement of business analysis practices, standards and tools across the University.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end business analysis for Oracle Fusion integrations and migration initiatives, partnering with senior stakeholders to translate business processes and outcomes into clear functional, integration and non-functional requirements.
  • Analyse and document current, interim and target-state processes, system boundaries, information flows, business rules and source-to-target mappings supporting the transition from PeopleSoft to Oracle Fusion.
  • Collaborate with solution architects, application owners, developers and delivery partners to define interface scope, data contracts, transformations, validations, error handling and dependencies across Oracle Fusion, ServiceNow and legacy systems.
  • Maintain requirements and interface traceability, assess upstream and downstream impacts, and support prioritisation and design decisions across API-led, event-driven and batch/file-based integration patterns.
  • Define acceptance criteria and support system integration, end-to-end and user acceptance testing, including test scenarios, data validation, reconciliation, defect triage and evidence required for business sign-off.
  • Support cutover, coexistence and operational readiness by documenting activation dependencies, controls, handover needs and support processes, while mentoring analysts and improving integration analysis practices and standards.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in information technology, business analysis or a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of professional education, training and experience.
  • Extensive experience, typically 5+ years, leading business analysis for enterprise-scale system integration and transformation initiatives in large, complex organisations using Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery frameworks.
  • Proven experience supporting major ERP integrations or migrations, ideally involving Oracle Fusion and PeopleSoft, including staged coexistence with cloud, SaaS and legacy applications.
  • Strong technical business analysis capability across interface requirements, information flows, business rules, source-to-target mappings, data transformations, API and file-based integrations, non-functional requirements and traceability.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting integration testing, reconciliation, defect triage, cutover and operational readiness, with the ability to work effectively across business, architecture, development, vendor and testing teams.
  • Excellent analytical, facilitation, communication and negotiation skills, with a commitment to secure and supportable solutions, data governance, health and safety responsibilities, and the values of the University.
