The Opportunity:
Working as part of a collaborative People & Culture team, you'll be a trusted point of contact for time and attendance matters, supporting users of our systems, resolving enquiries, identifying compliance risks, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will help ensure robust timekeeping practices, pay confidence, and a positive experience for employees across the University.
As a Time & Attendance Officer, you’ll provide timely and effective support and solutions to stakeholder inquiries in relation to our centralised timesheet management system (myTimesheet), as well as upholding a culture of compliance by monitoring reports and practices in relation to core time and attendance activities.
This role reports into the Time and Attendance Manager, with day-to-day direction being led by the Senior T&A Officer and has no direct reports.
Your day to day will include:
- Providing timely, accurate, and customer-focused support to stakeholders on time and attendance processes, policies, and system functionality.
- Managing and resolving enquiries received through the service ticketing system, escalating complex matters to senior officer or T&A Manager or to other P&C Teams/Local Admins
- Monitoring timesheet submissions, approvals, and system-generated exceptions to identify and address compliance issues.
- Investigating and resolve discrepancies relating to time and attendance records, timesheets, approvals, and retrospective payment claims.
- Supporting users through guidance, training, and education on time and attendance systems, processes, and compliance obligations.
- Maintaining user delegations and access profiles to ensure compliance with approval and governance requirements.
- Analysing time and attendance data, reports, and system exceptions to identify risks and trends.
- Ensuring the effectiveness of Time & Attendance practices against SLAs and KPIs and participating in process improvement activities.

You hold the following skills and experience:
- Experience in an administrative, HR, payroll, employee relations, or people services environment.
- Strong customer service skills with a proven ability to manage enquiries and provide practical solutions.
- Experience investigating issues, resolving complex queries, and escalating matters appropriately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate, compliant, and confidential employee records.
- The ability to prioritise competing tasks and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- An understanding of policy interpretation and compliance principles, with the confidence to provide guidance and advice.
- Experience analysing data, identifying trends, and supporting process improvements (highly regarded).
- Knowledge of Enterprise Agreements, workforce compliance, payroll-related obligations or My TimeSheet management processes (highly advantageous).
