Why Your Role Matters

The Senior Business Analyst leads complex business analysis activities primarily in support of the UNSW India Program, with a focus on the student journey & experience. Working closely with both professional and academic staff, the role is responsible for student journey business needs, processes, and data requirements to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with UNSW’s strategic objectives.

The role influences business and technology decisions, supports the enablement of teaching and learning for transnational education ventures.

The Senior Business Analyst reports to the BA Manager and has no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake business analysis activities for transnational education, supporting the definition and delivery of student journey related processes and systems.
  • Partner with academic and professional staff to identify, analyse, and document transnational education venture business needs aligned to UNSW’s strategic objectives.
  • Plan, prepare and facilitate workshops to define scope, elicit requirements, and build stakeholder alignment across University and Program teams.
  • Support the development of scope briefs and contribute to business cases and options analysis.
  • Translate business needs into clear requirements and user stories, ensuring traceability through to delivery.
  • Develop solution briefs outlining proposed approaches, process impacts, and data requirements.
  • Design and document work plans for your assigned deliverables.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and collaborate with technology and delivery teams to ensure fit-for-purpose outcomes.
  • Identify, document and actively manage dependencies across streams, escalating risks and issues where resolution is needed.

Who You Are:

  • You bring strong experience as a Senior Business Analyst within higher education institutions or other complex institutions.
  • You have experience delivering business analysis across large, complex organisations and leading strategically significant initiatives.
  • You are experienced in establishing work plans and driving to deliver them to agreed quality standards and timeframes with limited day to day direction.
  • You are experienced in requirements elicitation, solution design, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement, and are comfortable working in structured delivery environments.
  • You communicate and facilitate effectively with academic staff, professional teams, technical specialists, and senior stakeholders, bringing strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and familiarity with enterprise systems are desirable.
