Position Summary
Level 4
The Paralegal is responsible for the provision of sound paralegal and administrative support to members of the Legal & Compliance team.
This role will:
- Undertake paralegal and administrative work, such as conducting legal research, reviewing, analysing and summarising documents, and drafting correspondence and legal documents.
- Follow clear instructions from members of the UNSW Legal & Compliance team.
- Ensure that matter documentation and records are of an appropriate quality and maintained in accordance with Legal & Compliance’s record keeping requirements. This includes managing any conflicts of interest and the proper handling of confidential or sensitive information consistent with the obligations of the legal profession.
- Cooperate with all policies and procedures of the University and take all reasonable care to ensure your actions or omissions do not impact on the psychosocial or physical health and safety of yourself and others.
A person engaged is generally expected to have the following skills and experience:
- Close to completion or has completed a Law degree;
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and the proven ability to liaise with a range of stakeholders;
- High level of attention to detail;
- Proficient level of computer literacy, with sound working knowledge/skills in Microsoft Office applications; and.
- Ability to complete legal tasks independently and to raise questions or issues as necessary.
