About the department / center: 

The University of Delaware Lerner College Center for Economic Education and Entrepreneurship's (CEEE’s) mission is to prepare K-12 educators and students in economics, personal finance and entrepreneurship by providing dynamic, effective and standards-based professional learning, resources and programs. Its vision is to see all students graduate as economically literate and productive citizens. 

The CEEE is directed by Lerner Economics Dept. faculty member Carlos Asarta. He manages two full-time and three part-time instructional designers, all former classroom teachers. The Center is rounded out by two full time administrators, one communication specialist, one post-doc fellow, and three other undergraduate student workers.  Together, the CEEE staff produces more than 120 teacher trainings and supports more than a dozen student-centered programs each year.

Role Description:

The CEEE is seeking a responsible, motivated undergraduate student to assist with creation, organization, summarization, maintenance of resources it uses in the production of professional development and student programming. Student workers will also help with any tasks related to efficiently creating resources, summarizing feedback, updating contacts, and communicating the work being done. 

Students may grow into increasingly more responsible roles as particular strengths become evident.

Requirements:

  • Work-study eligible for spring semester
  • Student must be able to work 6-10 hours per week, to be spread over three to five weekdays shifts. No shift can be scheduled for less than two hours.
  • Freshman and sophomore applicants preferred as we would ideally like to employ students through graduation, should their work meet CEEE needs.
  • On rare occasions, students may be invited to help staff related events on and off campus, evenings or weekends and only if the student’s schedule permits. 

SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Experience with Microsoft Publisher preferred. Familiarity with various social media platforms, Constant Contact, and Eventbrite online software helpful. 

Some heavy lifting is required as CEEE maintains extensive materials in storage.
